The Goddess of Cheese!

Submitted on February 14, 2010 – 4:03 pmNo Comment

Meet Dexa Franks the Goddess of Cheese.

By The Paul

Dexa is the cheese expert at the Kowalski’s store in White Bear Lake, she pairs patrons with cheese, kind of like a Love Connection for foodies. Besides knowing cheese Dexa is a people person and you know when she tells you should try a new cheese she just acquired, well, you should try it. People like Dexa make it fun to spend on luxuries and fine cheeses are luxuries and a good investment towards a better quality of life.

Goddess of Cheese

As a remodeling contractor I get to try many restaurants, I mean if your in Rome you eat with the Romans right?

The better supermarkets in Minnesota have delis and Kowalski’s deli is the best. On the shore of White Bear Lake its not only a great grocery store but its a great place to grab a bite for a busy remodeler. You run in and get a sandwich or hot meal, a drink and grab a spot in the indoor seating area or, if the weather is nice go outside and watch the sailboats. Its winter now so I sat inside and watched the ice fishermen going out to their ice shack fish houses. Winter in Minnesota, some people spend part of it looking into a hole in the ice.

Today I am enjoying a cheese endorsed by Dexa Franks. I have been buying cheese on Dexa’s recommendations for a few years now, my favorites have always been the creamy and buttery triple creams from France, the Brie’s. But today I’m eating an Organic triple cream from The Cowgirl Creamery.

Cowgirl Creamery Organic Triple Cream- Mt Tam

This cheese allowed to rest at room temperature is a melt on your tongue smoothie that allows the subtle flavor infused from the finest milk in California to ensure happy taste buds for all who partake. All organic and firm enough to make it hold onto the crispy crackers you spread it on. Mt Tam is a working mans reward, this is a craftsman cheese appreciated by anyone who know the art of building, the thought and craft that built this cheese is family to the process that goes into any construction project, there is good, and there is art, Mt Tam cheese is art and as such is savored like a Van Gogh painting is entered rather than looked at.

Visit Kowalskis’s of White Bear Lake, get some groceries, say hello to Dexa and have her suggest a cheese for your discriminating tastes, slow down and enjoy what life has to offer.

Cowgirl Creamery – MT TAM Cheese

Just North of the San Francisco Bay, Mt. Tamalpais rises like a monument to Northern California’s natural beauty. In deference, Cowgirl Creamery named its signature cheese MT TAM. It’s a smooth, creamy, elegant, 10-oz, triple-cream – made with tasty organic milk from the Straus Family Dairy. MT TAM is firm, yet buttery with a mellow, earthy flavor reminiscent of white mushrooms.
