Good Afternoon WINNers,

I think that the mark of a good speech is when you are still thinking about it the next day and wondering how to apply what you learned to your own life. Such is the case with Toren Anderson's speech yesterday. Her rapid fire presentationand wealth of information had many in the audience scribbling madly to makenotes for later research. Toren was entertaining, informative and at times justplain funny and her message about getting on board the social network is very timely. She also pointed out that when things get better--and they will--it is best to be prepared by taking advantage of this slower pace to do just that.

I hope that everyone else enjoyed and picked up as many ideas and tips that
Toren presented us with yesterday as I did. And her adorable son's musical
talent was truly amazing!

Thanks to Jan Walters and the crew at Insidesign for the great space and
wonderful food for the meeting yesterday.

And don't forget that Insidesign is hosting the NARI Remodeling Business Forum on November 5, where our friend, Leslie-Anne McCallister, AKA The Google Girl, is a featured speaker!

Dianne Perry asked for more volunteers for the NARI booth at the Home Show at the Cobb Galleria this weekend and Jennifer Prins needs volunteers for the first shift on Friday morning beginning at 10 am to spread the word about becoming a NARI member.

Dawn Pogue asked for volunteers to be greeters at the NARI meetings on an ongoing basis and Beth Coetzee went over the Secret Santa With a Twist--based on Netweaving principles--and also shared with us her passion for the non-profit group I Am B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L., which helps young women build self-esteem and leadership skills.

Mary Battle, Dawn Pogue, and Beth Coetzee have prepared a dynamic program to help all of us jump feet first into the Internet by creating a LinkedIn page during the Hands-On-Bring-

Your-Laptop Internet Workshop on September 30, Wednesday, beginning at 4P.M. at the Sutter,
McLellan & Gilbreath, Inc. office (1424 North Brown Road, Suite 300, Lawrenceville, GA 30043).

Don't forget your laptops!

Welcome to all the NKBA members who attended the meeting yesterday. We hope that you
enjoyed the presentation and our meeting. Special thanks goes out to Jan Stittleburg of JS PhotoFX, who brought her camera and was gracious enough to take pictures of the group and of Toren. Thank you, Jan!

On a very serious note, I want to say that I heard from one member who could not attend due to flood damage. We want to say to those who sustained damage in the flood this week and to those who lost loved ones, our thoughts and prayers go out to you. It was an unexpected
and devastating blow to the Atlanta area and one from which it will take some time to recover.

Last and not least, our friends at Remodel Crazy have created a Linked In group. These are NARI members and contractors from all over the country who are especially interested in show-casing women in construction, and we thank you gentlemen for your interest in our group.

Have a WINN-derful day!

Good Morning, WINNers!

I hope that everyone is enjoying the change in the weather and drying out from
those devastating floods. It has been an extraordinary month!

This is a reminder for our meeting at C Lighting in Buckhead on Wednesday,
October 28 from 11:15 to 1P.M. I understand from several members that
it is an eye-popping showroom and I am looking forward to seeing it and
seeing all of you! Tracy Arntzen has also promised us chocolate! For a preview
of the showroom and directions, visit this link:
http://www.clighting.com/

Ms. Beth Coetzee has arranged for us a wonderful presentation entitled "How to
Effectively use Networks and Partnerships in Today's Economy", Mr. Matt Hoots
from The Hoots Group, Inc. presenting. Mr. Hoots is a long time member of the
remodeling community as well as a leader in green design and building and has
remained on the cutting edge of social media networking.

Please RSVP to Ms. Tracy Arntzen (tracy.arntzen@genesiselevator.com) that she can let
our host know who and how many will be attending. We don't want to run out
of chocolate! Looking forward to seeing you there for another informative meeting
about marketing on the internet.

Have a WINN-derful day!
