Tha paul is correct about the wood window. This is probably the worst thing you can have in a shower.

You could look into an acrylic block window that has all the good parts about glass block such as privacy but is a little warrmer as you will not radiate heat to it as much as true glass.

Another solution is if the shower is on the top floor is to install a sun tunnel over the shower. These can be purchased with lights and exhaust fans built in. The advantages are it will provide natural daylight, the fan will exhaust the excess moisture and the light will provide light at night.

The down side is you will probably end up re tiling the shower to eliminate the window and matching siding can be a challenge. I have also installed shutters in the window opening to fill in the siding where the wondow was if I could not match the siding

Good luck wsith your project!

I always use Acrylic glass block in the bathrooms near or in the tub surround area.
Here is one of the examples, the window above the tub is made by HiLite manufacturer (http://www.hy-lite.com/). It comes in many sizes and shapes and it can be used in many applications.

I put one of those in the shower of the last bath I did.
Was much warmer than the real glass block I took out and opened to boot.
