Here are a couple of before and after views of a remodel that we are just completing. For this project, we relocated the kitchen to the former family room, removed an interior wall to open the new kitchen up to the living room, created a new office space where the kitchen used to be (not shown), painted and installed new flooring, doors and millwork throughout the first floor.

And a couple of millwork and backsplash detail shots. Millwork and cabinetry are stained cherry. Doors are stained fir with painted casings. Tile is a mix of slates with inset glass mosaic accents. Counters are Costa Esmerelda granite.

Ok, I'm impressed. Very nice work. BTW, we have an album feature here where you can post multiple pics and link to it from your post. Go to the Community tab at the top of the page, look for pictures and albums.

Homeowners are very happy with it... which is the important thing. One says it makes him feel like he's living in a cabin - he loves all the warmth and wood.

Nope! That's where the scope stopped. They weren't very old to begin with, so the homeowners wanted to keep them.

That's an excellent transformation. The bench between the rooms is a nice touch; so are the columns. Also a neat use of space above the refer to carry the wood up -- always tough with a vaulted ceiling!
I was laughing at the subwoofers and speakers at the ceiling -- do you get "oh, we just want a couple of speakers?" which turn into 7 ceiling speakers, a complete home theater and 3 remote controls? Feels like we spend more time with the wiring for speakers than almost anything else...

This client is a retired electrical engineer, so he was very involved in all of the selections and installation of lighting and electrical elements. That made things pretty simple for us on this project! Originally, he was going to install all the speakers himself, but he had our electrician do a "while you're there" thing once they were on site.
