What tool did you just buy and how do you like it?

I just bought a Senco FinishPro 35 (15 gauge angle finish) from Blowes (display unit, not carried anymore for $150). I like it. A little heavy maybe but works like a well oiled machine so far.

Just got a Dewalt 18v hammer drill just like Mike Holmes uses. Only used it once but I tell you, drilling through porcelain to set anchors for shower rods and stuff is great.

No kidding, not the first time I've heard good reviews on that drill, on my list now.

On another Roofing Forum, there is a thread about cordless screw guns and drills and it seems as if the Makita Lithium Ions are getting good reviews.

For me, I was very satisfied with the DeWalt 14.4 and then the 18's XRP ones that came out.

Now, the need for them is so light, I just use the cheap FireStorms from Menards.

I bought some sandpaper. Two 25 packs, two 50 packs, 85 bucks. Not as glorious as a tool but, still a little rush.

It's kind of pricey but, lasts a long time.

I order decent sized quanities each time because, sometimes it takes a while to come in.

I bet I have 5 or 6 hundred dollars in sand paper. That's nothing compared to buying the big belts for the dual drum sanders.

I bought 2 roller covers and some new ladder racks for the van today, also got compd some brushes from my SW sales rep. I need to go pick up a new palm sander, maybe later this week if it rains I will make it to a store.

Just buck up and buy a Festool RO. The 5" aren't that much more than the others and it would last for a long time.

The new PC's are supposed to be pretty nice too.

Where do they sell them at in the Fort ? I dont wanna drive to Auburn to get one.
The wife just got me a new Shop Vac, my old one didnt work to well anymore, it would suck up the dust and blow it back out to give the work area a nice even distribution instead of just a pile where I sanded some patches.

My last tool was a solid brass low angle block plane. Had mine stolen a few years back. I have 3 brass block planes, probably worth a Double Iced Latte from Starbucks in scrap value alone.

Woodcraft, in colwater crossing. They also have the PC's as well.

It might be worth looking at for you. I bet you wont have to replace that one for decades. I think they also come with dust bags on the little ones.

The paper is kind of expensive compared to other brands but, I have to say it lasts at least 2x as long.

Good for sanding texture off before patching. I do that alot.

I scrape it off with a putty knife, if I am gonna patch anyways what a few gouge marks.
I got to do a little Bondo work on some aluminum siding later this week, I will have to get a decent sander before then, the rubber pad on the bottom of my Ryobi is too messed up.
I might use a DA sander though, but I will still eventually need a palm sander.

I could scrape it off but, I get paid extra not to make a mess. (thank you tools)

Last year I broke down and bought a Fein Multitool. Mighty neat piece of gear. A bit pricey and the blades are mucho money.
Hard part was trying to keep my employees from playing with it all the time.

I only hire English speakers now. Or, when I was hiring anyway.
Don't give a damn what color they are, but that "Hablas" horsheeit does not fly on my sites anymore.
No illegals. Not even from England.

LOL that doesn't happen with this machine (planetary) but I have sent many floor buffers flying across the room!

I guess you couldn't have that with the resistance between the blades and the wet cement. Just picture my scrawny self, arms straight out, gaining rpms!

I've had a few power trowlers with pans on them, throw me for a ride.

However, it does not take much for that to happen, at 142lbs, I am easily displaced.

just picked up a metal connector nailer for building decks, the guy at the shop just couldn't say enough good things about it. I thought it was a toy and I'd be returning it after one job, but this little thing really kicks butt.
