Builders, Suppliers and Subcontractors,
Please note that the City of Atlanta will be changing their collection of fees for building projects. A non-refundable permit fee of $75.00 and the Technology Surcharge of $25.00 will be imposed at the time of application. For permits requiring plan review, applicants will be required to pay 50% of the total building permit fee before plan review will commence.
Amendments or corrections to plans requiring a third review of the plans will require the payment of an additional 25% of the estimated building permit fee.
Revisions or amendments to plans for which a permit has been issued, but before the CO has been issued will require additional plan review fees at the discretion of the director.
Refunds of fees may be requested in writing within 30 days after the payment of the initial permit fee should the applicant wish to withdraw the application. The Director may authorize a refund of up to 50% of the plan review fee payment.
The Building Department is also switching to a new computer system called Accela Automation which will redirect all existing links as of November 30, 2009.
Inspections have become automated effective immediately. The number 404-658-6800 will allow scheduling, re-scheduling, canceling or getting the results of a an inspection.
