All Festool prices are them same no matter who you buy it from. As dealers, they are not allowed to compete on prices. the best you may be able to do is get around shipping costs.
Festool is discontinuing some of there tools in the near future and that is what they are calling it a "sale". Still though, that is offered by all dealers.

Pricing is the same everywhere. No deals to be had, unless they are discontinuing a tool.
Damn you Jason, even posted at the same time!!

He's on a dangerous path there.
Rail saw, table, kapex, kapex table, ct, and some sort of sander.
That's about 5K right there, I didn't include any cool clamps in that price either.

From what I have been told, by them and a guy that just went through the supervisor abatement course, any vac that has hepa filtration should pass the muster.
The issue that worries some people is that if the Vac needs to be Hepa certified, it would need a hepa filter for the air that cools the motor.
So far everything sounds good. I will drop Rick an email this week.

A shop vac with a HEPA filter will NOT satisfy the new requirements.

Isn't it all based on Micron size?

As it was taught in the Certified Renovator class, it must be a HEPA vacuum.... not just a shop vac with a HEPA filter.

Well then a CT is a HEPA vac, it was designed and manufactured that way.
Only issue I see is the air to cool the motor, that would make it in another catagory that most could not afford.

The HEPA vac I saw in class today didn't look any more heavy duty that the CT vacs. Had an internal bag and a large HEPA filter that fit the entire top where the air exhausted.

Here is a link to some 'lead' hepa vacs.
Seem similar, if not lacking in few things compared to a CT-22.

Right, do you understand what I was getting at with filtering the air that is drawn in to cool the motor? That air has nothing to do with the exhaust air of the vac.

I have the CT-22, same specs as the 33, onlt difference is weight and capacity. 22 liters vs. 33.

Weather or not it's qualified for lead removal, This thing works just like you would expect it to or better.
Don't get the tools without the Vac. It's a system that saves a lot of time and aggravation. You won't see the full benefit of that if you only go half way.

On the unit I saw... there were intakes on the top for cooling---but ALL air exiting the vac went through the HEPA filter.

If that is the way it has to be, I will be one pissed off person. I don't want to buy another 700-1000 vac, especially because it will not be easy to use with my damn tools.
I will look at my CT tomarrow but, I believe the motor cooling exhaust air does not get filtered. Maybe I can install one, or Festool can engineer on really quick.

Intakes are on the sides of these units and all air does exit through a separate hepa filter at the top.
The dust collection bag handles everything larger than 1 micron and the hepa filter cleans up the rest.

I was planning on getting a CT for this, and I'm assuming all went well with their equipment at the lab. HEPA vacuums are required on sanders and saws in the workspace as part of the lead safe requirements as well.

What about the blower door on the bottom of the left side, facing the on/off switch.
Dang it, I am going to have to get mine out of my trailer now and look.

The individual testing thing on the filters is what festool was having done.
If they meet that they should have a winner.
In Festool's cataloge it says their hepa's get 99.99% as well.
