Is there a standard for the height of a corner soap dish or shampoo shelf?

Wow...how how is that valve?
That all looks way high to me. Even the accent.
Low ceiling?

I usually put mine 36-42" from the bottom of the inside tub floor that usually will put it a little bit higher than waist height

shower valves 48 inches off sub-floor, tub valves 36 inches off tub bottom
corner shelves depending upon tile size, usually around 3 to 4 feet off shower floor.

I'm with the other guys, I shoot for about 3'-4' but I take many thinks into consideration and usually run it by the owner before finalizing it. You need to consider who's going to be using it. I think a kids bath or guest bathroom should be lower than a master bath. I also look at how it may interfere with fixtures such as a hand held and if I have a pattern in the tile I don't want to take away from that so I may adjust up or down to accommodate that.
In the end, it usually doesn't matter because as soon as I leave the job the owner comes back changes their mind and screws it all up because they don't take everything into consideration. I have a master bath we just finished where this happened and now the owner is kicking themselves a little bit.
