Just went to Best Buy to look at cameras for the wife, her birthday is coming up on the 30th and we will celebrate it tomorrow with the family.
Picked up a Fujifilm F72 EXR 10 MP 10x zoom. Focused nice and quick, the zoom is fast, maybe to fast and it has a few functions like P mode. I opened it up and took it for a short spin to make sure it was working  and so I can show her how to make it go.
Nice big screen, small camera, 10x zoom, some nice features for $229. We'll see how she likes it tomorrow.

So the first thing she sees when she turns it on is a macro shot of your hairy balls? :laugh3::laugh3::smash:

The biggest thing I hate about the digital cameras is how long it takes to put the image onto the memory card. Maybe I just have an old camera but waiting 10 seconds before snapping another shot irritates me.
A 12fps motor drive works for me but I hear the new cameras are much faster.

Leo, if the wife doesn't like it you can send it to me. Mine finally died and a camera is at the top of my christmas list.

I didn't even snap a picture with the new camera. Just did some focus shots, zoomed in and out, looked at how the macro worked, saw how it chose the ISO. That's about it. The only thing I can say so far that I don't like about it is that it shows every finger print on the body of the camera. Just handling it made a mess out of the body. I had to wipe it down before I put it back.
Even my Nikon DSLR will only shoot 3.5 fps, 12fps is fast.
I was planning on getting the new Nikon 12 MP camera but when I looked at the reviews not one good thing was to be said. I was shocked.
I have been looking for a 10x zoom for a while now. My first camera was an Olympus C750 and it had a 10x zoom. It wasn't a sub compact camera like the F72 is and it doesn't have a Zeiss lens either like my C750 does.

You definitely got an old one. Heck my Nikon D40 can take more pix per minute than my old Nikon F-1 35 mm (never had a motor drive).
If you want 12 fps (or more) many DSLR's now have video ability. Although most of the view finder diggies have a decent video mode.
Do they still sell and process 35mm film ???? :laugh3:

Alright maybe 12fps is fast but something faster than 2fpm would be good

Yea, you're probably "due" for an update. I can do 3 shots/sec with my simple point and shoot canon I gots a year ago.
