I just finished converting all of the available on line versions of the National Parks Service, Preservation Briefs into PDF files.

Briefs 1 through 44 are now available to all Remodel Crazy members in the download section. With thanks to Len, Paul, and Rory, Remodel Crazy is now the only place on line that I know of where you can download pdf ready files of all the available online versions of the NPS Preservation Briefs.

I hope all the members here will get some use of these. Please feel free to look through them and download all of them or anything that interests you. You'll find great information on everything from all types of roofing and exterior repairs, to additions, to painting and much more!

Enjoy!!

Jason, as an Historical Landmarks Commissioner for over a decade, I would like to thank you for the work you have done to bring this valuable resource to the public eye. As a Commissioner, the single biggest challenge we face is the education of the homeowners and the contractors looking to work for them. I appreciate any venue that helps in the preservation of America's treasured past.

Here is a link to our site back home, with links to our code, pres. briefs, and a great deal of information. Though much of it is specific to our jurisdiction, the rules, since the Preservation act of 1966, are at their base, universal.

...National Parks Service, Preservation Briefs...

I am having a hard time believing why anyone would want to 'preserve their briefs' let alone setting up a National Park Service to do so.

Did i miss something?

Finding a way to preserve the past, it structures, stories and people, lent themselves to the passage of the Preservation act of 1966, so that in the future we could look back on a record of historic skid marks....:laugh3:

I only post this as it seems as though I am a thread killer...
