Is there any use for it if I don't have text messaging on my phone? I dropped tm when I got too much porn I didn't want. Is that the only avenue to use Twitter?

I just took a review from a customer off a directory ad, posted it on my Facebook business ad and Twitter.
Both my FB and Twitter do have a lot of local connections not paint related, be curious to see how it pans out.

I personally don't get the appeal of twitter. Remodel crazy is on there and we will see how it goes.

I think it is too time consuming. If your following 30-40 people how could you possibly keep up with that many tweets.

Do I really want to know what your doing every hour on the hour?

That is how I felt about when I started. Think of walking thru a cocktail party and a bunch of conversations are going on, you only pay attention to what you are interested in.
I only follow people that share the same interest/hobby as I.
Once or twice a day I scan my tweets, most are links or little nuggets of info.
I rarely see anyone (ok maybe MCHammer) posting "I am eating a bowl of cereal".

I dont think the average person really gives a damn what a painter is doing right now. So Twitter wouldnt do much for me as far as I can tell.

To use twitter to your advantage you have to create a following instead of following every one else. = )

I understand that logic but what am I going to tweet about everyday or every couple of the days that is really worthy of someones time.

I tried to follow about 8 people and it was overwhelming to me.

I might just be old and out of touch but it was a networking tool that was hard to justify using

If Paul makes a Twitter for his magic rainbow snake skin boots I will follow it daily, otherwise I really aint up anyones ass enough to care what they are doing 24/7

No shit, who has time for all that. I do not want to know when Modern drops a duce. I just really dont have any interest in any of those sites.

Paul will never give them up, he is a true cowboy and will die with his boots on.

Think of twitter as a party. Tweet about crazy stuff that happens throughout the day and you will gain a following.

Ok, Modern, let's try an experiment. I just made a twitter account for painting. (My other one is not paint/business related)

Let's see what happens! :)

Is this what you wanted, Jason? Got you the extra large size to put back in Rory's face.

Heh. I like Twitter. Almost every design magazine has a Twitter account and I find useful information on latest trends and write-ups as they happen. I've linked it to my blog, so readers can get the information as well.

I do NOT post my dietary ramblings. Ew.
