Greetings to all who are utilizing this site!
I want to introduce myself; Melissa Bjornson, Marketing Assistant for Contractors Software Group [parent and distributing company: J. Knutson & Associates]
I hope all are having as successful summer as possible -- and hopefully through this site we can get to know each other a little better, the industry and our needs.
I also hope that I can raise awareness on the importance of construction software. We have an informative website that delves into all of our CSG products, webinars, events, training/support, etc. I also will be posting important articles that will explain the power of implementing estimating software, integrated systems and what it means to you as a contractor.
Please contact me with any questions or inquiries!
Sincerely,
Melissa Bjornson

Great! I will be sure to keep our information updated and relative. Now have you looked at our software at all or are you using anything for estimating/accounting/scheduling?

Welcome Melissa, I took a quick look at your site and did not see the one thing I have been wanting.
Takeoff and Estimating Software for Macintosh for a painting contractor.
The few I have seen are just too much (detail and price) because they are designed for building contractors.

Welcome Melissa. We are glad to see so many women signing on here as you will all add a great dimension to a great site. Young, but great. Won't be long before we are outnumbered.

Hi Melissa, hope you and Jeff get to feel at home here and find as much warmth here as you bring.
(Got some of that from a Hallmark Card, or could you tell)
Warning, some of the guys around here can be clingy

Hi Melissa,
I am a competitor, but completely SaaS web-based, and studied your company starting as early as 2005 when entering the industry. You and I, as well as our prospects can debate about Windows-based versus Internet based all day.
I did want to give your company a compliment from a quality perspective since I did not find anything negative with your company and that adds a good image to the industry. Good trade show presentation, good follow-up, and I couldn't dig up anything that I could work around from a negative perspective (which I usually keep to myself anyway).
Our differences in the market are purely based on the technology.
Out of the more than hundred companies I reviewed back then, your firm still stands on my competitive analysis to watch (which probably has around twenty companies today). It is good to see well run software companies, regardless of the specific platforms they decide to operate around.
Brian
PS. As of this post, I have never spoken to or met Melissa as far as I can recall (except possibly passively at an event), but did want to acknowledge that they are worth taking a look at if you are searching for a Windows based server solution. And if you believe in only a web-based, then come my way.

Spoke to Melissa today, my NARI roundtable is having its monthly meeting at their office Thursday, we do a few sponsored events every year.
Jeff (Melissas's boss) is doing a seminar for the roundtable followed by lunch.
Of course Remodel Crazy would be up for one from you Brian, if you would choose to do a webinar someday and you don't have to provide lunch.
Maybe you could explain why internet based is preferable.
Remodel Crazy people buy products, we just want to buy them when we understand what were buying.

Count me in ... and something to consider is having a debate between a Windows provider and SaaS provider, similar to a Democrat vs Republican debates. It would be more philisophical as opposed to feature versus feature. Maybe this may gather a different form of interest with a twist of fun?

Brian - I really appreciate it! It gives me a great feeling about the company I work for and know that they are doing a good job - Perhaps we can talk in confidence should you ever want to become a reseller or share your personal experiences with the company you work for now.
We have many people ask about web based programs and although I know ours is not, we like to make useful recommendations as well.
So yes, keep keeping us in mind! And thank you again for your kind acknowledgment!
