I just spent 40 min. of my life creating a really nice long introduction that told you all about me and how I got into the business. Even wrote about the crazy, demon boss who was crazier than an outhouse rat. Well, I got booted from the site when I hit submit. Lost it all.

To make it short, I'm a self employed Painter located in Toledo, OH.

This time I'm going to save my words so I don't have to go through this again.

Welcome Dusty. When you log in, there's a button next to the log in that says "Remember me". Click on that and you will stay logged in forever. You got booted because Rory got tired of hitting the 're-boot' button every twenty minutes.

Sorry to hear you lost some stuff. I hate that. Here's a tip, anytime you write something you don't want to loose, select it and copy before submit. Then if you loose it, paste and submit.

That said here's some info for everyone.
The cookie that keeps you logged in is set for 15min. After that you have to log back in. That's probably what happened, typing in a box is not activity that causes the time to restet, borwsing posts, forums is. Keep this in mind when typing long posts or if you get up and walk away for some time.
