Oh, the backsplash :laugh3:
around the cooktop, it's real copper. Elsewhere, it's combo of emperador dark marble and polished glass. All three came from the sheet of mosaic above the cooktop. And everything has been grout with translucent urethane grout. Don't worry Chris, I'll try to contain myself :cool4:

The paint was one of the only things that I did not have my hands directly on. The soffit issue was the way I got the HO to agree to doing a color. They wanted all forms of beige throughout the main floor. They were terribly afraid of color in the kitchen. That was the compromise.
The blue service door is a carry-over from the living room wall:

But Mark, this is the house I was talking about with you. This was by far the biggest pain in my rump house when it comes to paint. Between choosing colors to the issues I had with the painter, I was at the end of my rope.

Thanks everyone. This job was a little extra satisfying...for a few reasons.
- It's pretty much 95% my idea. Only the paint and pendants (and a few appliances) were not my choices.
- At the time, I had never seen the faux wood flooring. Even more, it's installed without grout joints. It was by far the most challenging tile job I ever did. That floor took about 2 weeks to lay.
- Not pictured is the powder room (just behind the cooktop). I used a pretty cool iridescent glass border, framed with copper Schluter Rondec and finished with a metallic urethane grout. At the time, I believe I was one of the only people in the country that had access to the unreleased grout.
- Finally, the unique kitchen backsplash. That copper was hard to get to come by. It took almost 6 months to even get a price. It was all finished off with more translucent urethane grout.
It was really nice to work with some higher-end materials. Overall, I'm pretty proud of how it turned out
