Used to go down to the Pub for corned beef and cabbage every New Years. Now that I'm a family guy we order pizza (made by the Greeks) and watch movies all day.

I spent Thanksgiving in Miami a few years ago and got invited for dinner with someone. They asked if I'd ever tried soul food. Nope never and never again! Man those spices or whatever is used is definitely an acquired taste - One which I don't think I could ever acquire!

It musta been the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life trying to eat that without barfing at a table of 14 people. I got about a quarter way through it then made my excuses for not eating the rest :(

Split pea soup with lots of ham in it was our usual when I was a kid. Now I will usually make a pot of chili because my wife hates split pea soup.

Yup, it's usually a 2-meal deal at our place too. My wifey is vegatarian so she gets beans on toast
