These are infrared paint removers.

SPEEDHEATER INFRARED (IR) PAINT REMOVER FACTS:
The Speedheater Infrared (IR) Paint Remover radiates at about 380-580°.
Paint is only heated to 200-400° with the Speedheater used 20-60 seconds.
Wood catches on fire at about 745° depending on the thickness and type of wood.
Acrylic paint will become soft at about 100-275°.
Lead in paint will become toxic gas at about 1000°.

I've never used one, but according to those specs this would be considered safe for use under the RRP Rule because of its operating temperature.

Haven't seen that one but infrared paint removers have been around for years.

Were all gonna be crazy by April, aren't we?

I don't know about enforecment but just got down here to Austin TX and in the whole state of TX there are 161 firms that are certified.

You know what it looks like at the post office on April 15?

We use the Speedheater quite a bit. I wish it worked as well as the video you linked to, that thing is s-l-o-w. It has its place but isn't a miracle tool.

We have two speedheaters used for restoration of windows. They do a great job, but with some reservations. 1) they are awkward and if you're doing a house or trim you need to get one of the holders. 2) great for flat areas, not much use on details 3) the first thing you or your employees are going to do is drop the thing breaking the bulbs which cost $70-90. Buy extras at the beginning and caution everyone to be very careful about dropping the thing. I prefer the speedheater to a heat gun as the lower temperature is safer, they are quieter, and you can do a larger area at a time.
