I know its been awhile since we have done a webinar.. I apologize for the delay..
I am working on two right now that should be ready in the upcoming weeks..
#1 I have one that will utilize a spread sheet and discussion will follow on how to determine your cost and what your mark up should be to break even and make a profit on your cost to operate.
#2 The second webinar will be one of many that will introduce a number of software options available to generate estimates quicker and give a professional appearance to the documents you supply your customers.
If there is anything that you would like to know pertaining to these topics please list it hear so I can inform the presenters and try to include or answer these questions it into their presentations..
Thanks

For the mark-up and overhead webinar this is the three main items we have to work with so far
1. Determine proper markup (using totals from previous period)
2. Determine Actual Hourly Labor Cost for Hourly/ Salaried Employees
3. Compile Markup, Labor Costs, and other Job costs to determine a proper Job Cost for Bidding (Min. Break Even Bid Amount), and a Standard Bid Amount

I'm looking forward to this one.
Determining proper markup without a history would be beneficial to newbies and possibly how to cover unusual periods in your own history. I'm in the process of refiguring ours and look at last years numbers with suspicion. They are what they are but how would they skewer calculations going forward?
Good Luck

Perhaps, if you could help make my son look at me like I was God again, and maybe get my wife to believe I'm Adonis??
Seriously, nothing comes to mind now. I am wondering a lot lately about putting last years numbers into the mix.
And I second the motion to bug Bob Kovacs. There's a mind not to waste.

I will do that.. The first webinars will be basic in nature.. The how much do I charge questions comes from not knowing the basics..
The webinars will progress in difficulty and we will reach out to more people to help with the technical aspects of estimating and more vendors..
Right now I am hoping we can answer the basic questions and progress from there.
Gathering questions along the way to plan out the feature sessions as they get going..

I would start with the basic budgeting.
What does it cost to operate your business from the point of view of overhead.
Determine what those costs are and go into volume pricing mark up etc based on establishing a mark up structure that will sustain the fixed costs and allow for profit and growth.
This approach allows company health to be monitered closely based on sales volume at a particular mark up.

So I got a dumb question, if he's really in Thailand, does that also mean that Phuket is a real place? I just assumed that was a joke.
