I've spent the last 3 months of weekends residing my house. I still have some loose ends, but I'm taking a break from it this weekend.:p So what've you been working on around the house?

Where do you get the energy, man? I would like to just reside AT my house. Don't plan, just wait til wife throws something, or else threatens to leave and I can't be entirely sure if she's totally serious..

Have a great weekend. Been camping, just heading home. Isn't Wifi neat?

Dave. like bushes better red.

The beauty is Dave, I'm divorced and get to decide where and when the weekend projects happen. I'm actually working less hours now that I don't have to pay for someone elses irresponsible spending habits.:o
As for the bushes, they only flower in the springtime. Sorry.:D

looks like you get interesting projects to work on. I'm interested in history of the trades, notice distinct time periods when large, quality homes get built, and are worth preserving. In our area, many Victorian homes and large farmhouses from 1890-1920, sparse since until recent financial boom. Since i would imagine Wall St. directly influences your work, do you see interesting work ahead? I know big isn't necessarily great, smaller isn't necessarily boring.

I have a full schedule for roughly the next two years with one GC partnership. They are building an extremely custom home, as well as doing some renovations to a 103 year old building which houses a restaurant. They also have a 120 unit, 55 and older community under way. The first foundation for a 24 unit building should be in by summers end. I may be moving into a project managers position if that takes off.:)

Sounds like a change that might be welcome, not necessarily lighter in workload.

I left a maintenance position at a community college a couple years ago after 17 yrs, decided it wasn't for me. Maintenance, building operation, energy management. Got back into trade full time plus pt time electrical contracting, fully lisc.&insured.
The big cottages were just starting to be built when I left 20+ yrs ago, very amazed at the talent and level of design and craftsmanship by some builders and young tradesmen. I think the opportunity has to be there, in the 70's we had government sponsored low rental housing going up, cottages mostly under 2,000 sqft, now the affluence I used to decry is funding the opportunity to do first class work. That's kind of what i was getting at. On my own, mostly reno for average people, enjoy making friends with great customers.
