I think 2 and 4, I am already seeing where there are jobs I would not bid on as a sub because the GC and other subs are not Firm Certified. And there is no way way I am going to be the Certified Renovator on a job where I assume responsibility for everyone else.

I was looking forward to this, but fortunately I had 2 proposals to finish for tomorrow and they ran long and I missed the webinar.
This is one time where I would not be opposed to reruns.

Like electricians and plumbers are going to abide by this.
Sorry lady, cutting a new access hole and re-piping this little bit will require testing for lead and also cost you 2k.
Sorry, those two trades will not comply, I am almost certain of it. Plumbers are too grouchy to play by the rules.

Our upcoming insurance webinar needs member questions.
Send them to The Paul
The guest speaker is Mark Kinsey who has been around and knows his stuff.
Mark is blunt and honest and will not sugar coat his talk.
Be ready to hear stuff you may not like.

How do we protect ourselves from 'pre-existing conditions', ie: clients who already have high levels of lead in them or their kids and don't tell us?

From the Chat Transcript: (Any comments I have are in Red, names removed to protect the guilty, oops I mean the innocent)
Most of us know there will be additional costs but are more concerned with gotcha’s and sneak attacks. How do we protect ourselves from HO's who are looking for a deep pocket to pay for their kid's prior lead exposure?
What about insurance?
Given the new EPA lead rules and regs and the burden placed on legit remodelers...will the EPA actively enforce the rules and drum out illegitimate companies? – They say they will, now how they are going to do this really remains to be seen
As a sub, what do I do about working for GCs that are not "firm certified" or have all "firm certified subs on jobs?
I want to know if we can get a dislaimer signed that the HO attests that they are not aware of any pre-existing testing or condition that indicates lead exposure. Fine, but I want the HO to attest that they know of no pre-existing lead exposure condition for any resident of the house before hiring me. --- A homeowner is supposed to disclose any pre existing conditions or tests performed. That being said I would simply ask about it & note their answer & the date on your paperwork. As a quick aside, if the blood tests were bad enough, they will probably not be calling a CLR but a Certified Inspector & an Abatement firm
What are liabilty issues of being the CLR on a a job?
Another Webinar Topic - We need a webinar on marketing this to HO's - will require scare tactics --- I don't think this will require scare tactics & most times those fall on deaf ears

Found two more:
Testing of family members prior to job start? There are a few threads on this already, personally it is not a good idea
what is this law going to do to the housing market as a whole? Will we see large areas that are razed or abandoned? Will it make it harder for owners to sale them? maybe out of the scope of this webinar.. just curious
