Sean Lintow Sr., owner of SLS Construction in Hanceville, Ala., already has spent the $250 for the one-day certification training. He estimates that a third of his jobs will be affected by the rule changes.
He will need to buy a new vacuum to comply with the rules and he will always need someone certified on site.
Lintow also expects cleanup to take longer. For example, instead of throwing drywall into a dumpster, his workers will have to first remove any hardware like nails and screws, wrap the drywall in plastic and take it out of the house in trash bags. Then he'll have to wait at least an hour after cleaning to determine if any lead is present.
''I run a dust-free shop,'' Lintow said. ''Any extra cost will automatically be passed down to the consumer. That's business.''
Congrats on the mention Sean. :2thumbsup:
