Anyone been able to find one that is 6'6" wide?

I am taking out an exterior sliding door, turning a sunroom into a conditioned space and they want a french door in place of the old slider.

I just dont remember seeing a 78" wide one before.

How about a 3-0 with sidelite flankers?

That is an option, I think they want it to be as big as possible though.
The sunroom is right off the kitchen/dinning room and the pool and hot tub is right outside there.

I've got a custom door guy up here in Wisconsin if you need him. He probably wouldn't warranty one that wide but he makes top notch doors. PM me if you'd like his info.

If they are going to use it
then they get to buy a custom sized
double screen door too.
A three-oh is really all they will use....

I think you mis-understood me.

This is an interior door. As of now it is an exterior door that goes into the sun room and then there is another Andersen slider that I installed last year, that goes to the outside.

I am taking out the original exterior slider and replacing it with a interior door.

I figured it may be a custom unit, I mentioned a cased opening but they like the idea of a door there.

It's a hard knock life.

Basically, I am making the sun room a conditioned space so they have more room for family and events. They have a couple grandkids and the gatherings keep getting a little bit bigger all the time. They just need some more space.

Simpson will make pretty much anything.
I've gotten 3-0X7-4's and 4' wide ones.

I am trying to avoid having to repaint the kitchen and dining room area. I know I could shrink it but, will that save enough to pay for the drywall work and the extra paint job?

I will add that to my list.
Bigger jobs just mean more planning and paper work.
Now if I could only get modern of his butt to give me a price on painting.

I was eating a dreamsicle today while holding Delilah ( 6 months old now) and she leaned over and took a bite of it. Those 2 teeth are sharp!!

Update:

Not sure who the manufacturer is but I was able to combine to get a unit this size.

I did a fixed 1'6" with two operable 2'6". Shifting it one side frees up some more space in both rooms as well.

Have you door guy get a pair of 42"s and rip them down as needed,
With an astragal you could take off from both hinge stiles and the astragal stile to ensure door hardware will work.
Should be easy for any door shop.

Edit
Sorry didn't read the last post Never Mind

I thought about two big doors but, I was worried about how many times I might have to go back and tune them up. Plus a 3'3" door really needs a wide path to open up into a room.

Thanks guys, sometimes I have issues thinking outside the box.
