I dont wish ill will on anybody, but the past 2 seasons:

2 yrs ago we lost a combined total of 2 months of work due to rain
last year we lost 1 month to rain total.

Kinda makes it hard to earn a living when all the jobs were exterior jobs and our building season is short lived as it is.

We had some pretty big storms out here this year. I was working inside during one of them so no biggie.

It's been sunny lately but I've had no work. I did some framing once on Martha's Vineyard in the winter months. Brutal.

But you don't WORK in it do you? Doesn't that screw up the sealants you use?

Between the snow and the rain, I have had two deck jobs still incomplete since January.

To say I've lost money on them is an understatement.

better tent designs? I know my granddad would put up rain shields, plastic and scaffolding across the wall of an exterior he was bricking.. anything to get the job done.

Yeah, I've built decks under blue tarps a bunch of times.

We started today with rain. Was on and off. Then, we got rain and snow. Once that stopped, it dried out for an hour. Then it hailed for a bit, that turned into snow, then 10 minutes latter it's raining again.

Was thinking about you guys on the way home this afternoon, rain sucks.

Greg, weren't you the one that was busting my balls for being a fair weather carpenter:laugh3: Sorry for ya man for real. One thing I like about doing it all interior and exterior. Sucks because I have to work harder for the final result than the guy that does just 1 or 2 things. Just like everything pros and cons. We had rain most of the summer last year and I was able to schedule around most of it.
