I'm thinking about this (http://www.occidental-leather.com/systems/5191.html) one
Anyone use occidental tool belts? They're a bit pricey but I'm tiered of the bags I have. Things just don't seem to be where I want them. These look like what I need to have things were I like.

Looks like a serious set of bags there man :) You a leather fan? You like the fixed bag setup? I like mine to slide a bit, or for me to be able to adjust them, but that is just me, and all I have known.

I don't mind the fixed bags, but I sure would like to try them on before pulling the trigger. They may have something fixed somewhere that will just drive me nuts!:mad2:
I've read some reviews at other forums and 95% of people with Oxy's are very happy with them. Tough call to make when you can try them on but, on thee other hand, I've bought some after trying them on and didn't like them after a while.
It's a crap shoot I guess...
I do prefer leather bags.

Love the leathers. I dropped mine about two years ago. Went to bucket organizer and have some hand carry bags for attic/crawl work. Just got tired of strapping it on.
I now do tape on front pocket, square back left, pencil back right, hammer stays on the ladder until I move the ladder and it falls and hits my head.

I never liked the hammer in back.
There have been a couple of studies
recently that show that there is
greatly increased risk for serious spinal
injury in falls, when the hammer is back there.
I know....
no one plans to fall.

Well, I bought them (through the RC store). Wish me luck guys, I have NEVER spent so much on a tool belt in my life but, I have spent way more in the past years with tool belts I didn't end up liking.
I hope this is the last tool belt I ever buy:surrender:

Pretty much how I work unless hanging sheetrock or something where I will be using a lot of screws and then I put on my bags with a drill holster on the right. I wear a hammer holder on my belt so that it's always handy...never know when a nail needs to be set or something needs a "gentle" nudge. I also carry a utility knife in the right back pocket 99% of the time. I have a set of the dewalt bags. They were actually quite expense. Good durable bags, but also prone to spilling stuff if thrown down haphazardly.

Send me the Makita's. I've had the Dewalt leathers for 7-8 years and they still work like a charm.:2thumbsup: Sorry I'm late but, you're going to wish the bags moved. Just my 2 cents

I remember starting out years ago with a single bag belt w/ hammer hoop and tape measure basket. Tool belts kept getting bigger on each purchase, eventually had to add suspenders to hold it all up.
Now it's more like Blue, pockets with a bucket and another steel box close by. If I wear anything it's a cloth nail bag with a hammer hoop.
Good Luck

I have a craftsman nylon set of bags that have lasted me 6 yrs. The loops are in need of restitching but I am not sure what kind of industrial sewing machine I would need for a job like that! I hope to be able to get them redone though. The actual belt it's self is a leather two prong belt. I actually love those bags. I want to say I paid about $80.00 for them back in 03'

Matt's got first dibs on the belt but I warned him to try them for a week or two before taking them. These things really suck! Very little tool slots in them; all bags and nylon too.
Useless IMHO. When is the last time you needed to carry a bunch of hand nails? It's about all they're good for (maybe). It's no wonder they gave it away free with the purchase of a circ. saw!:mad2:

Wow I can't believe the price of those oxi belts. Are they really worth that much money guys? I love having a good tool belt but over $100 why? Are they really worth that much? I'm just wondering is all. What makes them so special?

I think it's a never ending mission to find the perfect set up. I've gone to the big box stores and put together a custom set of leather pouches and it cost about $150 10 years ago.
I've been spending a lot of time on the ladder and outside working these days and having yourself set up well is a huge time saver. I can make up for the cost of the belt in productivity alone under those circumstances.
Besides that I'm pretty sure this will be the last tool belt I'll ever need to buy. The reviews on the company and the belt are very good.

The MacGuire Nicholas apron is
23 years old this month.
$28.00 seemed pricey then. http://i634.photobucket.com/albums/uu61/neoliticman/smilie/smiliewhistling2.gif

ya I guess so. I hate the belts that the borg stores have. They never seam comfortable. They never seam to be that good of quality either. I have wanted a new one for a while but can't justify the cost right now. I don't even think Oxi is available here in Canada. I will have to see about a trip over to Detroit maybe when I am in Windsor next. Our dollar is so high now its worth while to cross boarder shop now.
