My area is a small rural town of 43,000. Very little web presence for all trades.
Also a desirable area to move/retire to, as the whole state is.
A lot of good ol boy, word of mouth activity.
Even the directories have very little local listings.

The plan is this is to eventually have 3 sites
"state" site that would show state resources, links to local contractors.
"city" site that shows local business, with facebook, blogs, info to personalize.
"painting" site my company site.

So here is the city site (http://cedarcitypaint.com/).
I am using Joomla and still learning how it works, I know it needs polishing and more content. Trying to get the "bones" set and then flesh it out.

So whaddya think?
Thanks

Too much reading, words too small.

Its all about them but make it easy.

Here is my new site http://203kloanmn.com/, 2 weeks old, I am on the first page of Google for 13 different search terms.

Its a specialty site and the hardest part was SEO rich articles that educated without getting too long.

Notice how large my script is.

1st page of Google for 13 terms in 2 weeks, got 3 calls already.

Granted its a specialty but my site moves forward, that's not by accident. Its like baking a cake, first the ingredients, then you blend them ect.

The "welcome" statement should be closer to the top, not way down on the bottom. It wasn't clear to me what the intent of the site is.

I think its a great idea and a good first step. You have a great foundation to work off of.
