Thought this would make for a productive thread. I'm curious to hear what feedback others are experiencing in the field when presenting the RRP Regulation.

Found this today on a discussion thread:

I am in the process of replacing my windows, and after getting a bid from a major window company, they must have realized that the windows would be arriving after this cut-off date and so they added on a $117 fee per window. Interestingly, later in the negotiations, they agreed to eat this cost. I decided to have them installed by someone else anyway, and I’m not sure if this person knows / cares about the lead disposal rules, but I will bring it up with him because it sounds like it will a problem during inspections.

I have been amazed that Irritating Oily Window Guy
hasn't been promoting...
"Special Sale. Beat the new lead rule prices!"
Wonder what their strategy is?

They are still going to advertise free installation, only now the windows will cost
about 1000 bucks each.

I thought they already did.

Ok, then $1113.00. That makes more sense.

I wonder if that person knows the the potential fines, now also apply to them since they were informed of the rule by the first contractor.

The fines don't apply to HOs.

The only reason the HO might suffer is if the contractor is fined and can't finish the project.

We can only hope that local municipalities will eventually take up enforcement as part of permitting. In my area, that's not going to happen for at least a year--perhaps longer.
