Gus's machine can't edgeband. Did you watch it?
I've wanted a CNC before I knew Gus. He just likes to point his finger at me...

I wonder what they are suing as a heat source. Looks like a damn plasma torch it's so bright.
I was watching it thinking big deal. Then they pulled out the edge bander and it went to WOW cool.

I thought it was going to set itself on fire.
I am going into the shelf building business.

I am resting. The newly installed computer in my head makes posting a non issue.

You are too cheap, it is probably like an old 386 machine.

I run a 500 MHz pentium III in the shop.
Does quite well for what I need it for. Just won't run eCabs.

Isn't E Cabs your staple software?

Yep.
I run it on my laptop. 1.8Ghz Dell Inspiron with dual processors and 2 GB of RAM.

So the shop computer is more for hanging out here and elsewhere

No. The shop computer is my connection to the printer. I have a bunch of identical programs on both machines. ANd if I need something printed I will transfer it by jumpdrive to the shop computer and print it out. If I am at home I have a wireless printer that will print from my laptop (or any other of the computers at my house).
The shop computer is only connected to the internet by landline - slow. I use my cell phone connected to my laptop for internet access.
I don't use the shop computer much any more since I got my laptop and got it setup. But I have a lot of previous clients info on the shop computer. It is well backed up.

That's amazing.
But, what would you do with all the extra time?
I like CNC but I still like the idea of hands on cabinetry. I guess it would be okay for carcase sides and such. High output shop.
How is old Gus anyway? He doesn't post much here.

He doesn't post here at all. He thought it would conflict with his duties over at CT. I find that highly suspect. Hell, I'm here and I don't even have a CNC machine to do all my work for me.:laugh3:

that is so freakin cool.
I'd buy one in a second. there's a lot of other stuff you could find to do with your hands if you wanted to :mad2:

How's the maintenance on those bad boys.
Leo G

My hands are nearly maintenance free.

I occasionally run a little water over mine, other than that, not much else going on.
'Sack complains that the fingernails on my right hand are a bit long, even though I keep them uber clean.
Better for the guitar pickin'. :laugh3:
