Well we finished up our first Employee garage sale out in the warehouse which ran 2 weekends and was visited by 1,300-1,500 people. All who now know exactly where Leisure Time Travel and Handyman Solutions is located. :2thumbsup:

No one made much money (only $2,673.10 total between 6 families) - but we did get rid of a LOT of junk. There was also some good publicity and we passed out plenty of flyers (one for each person that actually made a purchase plus anyone that stood still long enough and made eye contact ;))

There is a lot of junk left so we are storing everything onsite and will do it again in Sept. People kept asking if it was a new flea market or a charity event..... that got me thinking that a charity event garage sale sponsored by our companies would be good publicity for sure and the more people that know where we are the better.

Not a bad idea. Maybe offer coupons to buyers.

Jesse, you are a pioneer. Good job.

The flea market idea would do well out here, people love to buy other peoples stuff. We go down to this flea market at DeAnza College in Cupertino, right down the street from Apple. I swear, you would think you were at a mall the way these people set up.

But it is still just a flea market. My wife loves it, it is once a month and we go about every third time. It is an hour and fifteen minutes each way, but a good way to spend some time together.

You want to know how succesful flea markets can be. Google 'Canton Trade Days' in Canton, TX just a few miles up the road. The entire town is a flea market the first monday weekend of every month. Hundreds of thousands come every single month to wade through pavilions, fields, etc. This town of around 2000 people would otherwise just be a gas station on I20.
