Here are pics of a kitchen we finished a few months ago. I just got around to photographing it yesterday.

For this renovation, the footprint of the space was kept the same but a window, cased opening, and patio door were relocated for a more efficient layout. The two-toned maple cabinetry is KraftMaid, and the counters are Caesarstone with a crackled subway tile backsplash.

The existing white oak hardwood floors were protected and saved. Also included in the renovation was the installation of a custom maple banquette with roll-out storage drawers and upholstered padding. The adjacent dining room received a wall of matching library cabinetry, and two low knee walls were capped with Caesarstone.

Custom maple banquette. The large painting is by the homeowner.

The drawers under the seat are on casters.

On them Kraftmaids do you put an end panel on, cut the style, or put in a filler for the crown returns?

You can order them these days with flush sides. (Furniture sides I think they call it.) I believe that's how they came on this one.

In the past we've either added an 1/8" skin to flush it out, or installed a framed panel to match the doors.

Looks great as usual Chris.

What's up with the orange tinted pics. Do I have to come over there and show you how to adjust the white balance on your camera?:laugh3:

I know, I know. :surrender:

I'm still using an old, low frills 5MP camera. I need to upgrade. Didn't do any post-processing either.

As long as you know. Doesn't matter about the age of the camera. You just need to set the white balance.

Just tweaked them a little in PSE. The library ones were the worst.

There haven't been to many pictures that I took off the camera and just put up online. Almost everything gets a bit of the editing. Just like when you use to send out your film shots to a pro developer. The didn't just put them through a machine like they do now. They would adjust them as best they could. Now, with digital editing we can do so much more. But the old timers could do amazing things too.

freakin awesome man. Hey was this the house where you were trying to decide what to do with those little planters?

Chris, how come you don't use watermarks?

Yes. We decided to just cap them with Caesarstone.

Just haven't taken the time to I guess. It's hard to imagine a watermark that would do the job AND not ruin the pic.

Have yet to see one that looked decent.

Very, very nice. That's the kind of style I would like in my own home...

I have always called your banquette a breakfast nook.Must be a regional thing.

"Banquette" just means an upholstered
built in bench.
(Amongst other things.)
So the thing as a whole is a
dining/breakfast nook....

You've got some great accessibility features in there too, Chris! Love the extra worktop lighting from the under-cabinet lights, the cabinet handles and the separated lever faucet next to the gooseneck spout. Is that a pull-out sprayer on there too?

I just love the built-ins in the dining room. Started me thinking about my own dining room plans!

Beautiful Chris!

Do you have any uber closeups of the backsplash tile? That little accent tile looks cool, is it a hand glazed tile?

Sonoma Tantrum, Burnt Umber, 1/2" x 1/2"

They came in 12"x12" sheets and we cut them down as accents.
