Keep it up buddy... See that orange dead blow hammer? It works great on crusty Connecticut woodworkers...
Rory, it IS a nightstand... Part of a 5 piece bedroom set. The bed is also finished, but I stuffed it in my miniature spray room before taking a picture.
It's getting a medium-dark reddish brown stain (diluted dye base and traditional cherry stain) followed by a few coats of conversion varnish.
Tomorrow I start dresser #1. I'm already running out of room.

Gotcha I just found it odd that you just built a night stand.. Please post pics of the rest of the set whey you get a chance.

The color is a mixture of ML Campbells Traditional Cherry and Traditional Mahogany. Here's a bad cell phone picture of what the girl did to the first two pieces I dropped off last month. It gives you an idea of the color too....

All I did was tweak the brightness.
The rest was already there. Is that pretty close to the color of the cabinets? I didn't do a color correction on the photo.
Looks like I should have. The corrected version is much browner. With a lot of the red taken out.

your picture shows up on my laptop as a light brown cabinet covered in blood red splotches... The original pic I posted looks about right to me.. It is a very reddish brown....

The original is so dark I can't even see the cabinets.

There looks like there was some sort of wild monkey sex going on in that room.
Is that a santa clause hat too?

Garbage in garbage out. I can't take a crappy photo and make it beautiful. I can only take a poor picture and make it nice.
Plus, I spent about seconds on this. I just wanted to see the woodwork.
The bra was a nice touch though, this shot going on your website?

Sure... although the girl is underage, so I dont really want to put anything on my site about the monkey sex....
the color in the original comes up alright on my laptop, I just wanted to show KK what the final finish would be. It is a rather dark color. They wanted it to match some other stuff in the house.

It took them awhile to get the room emptied, so I just got there today to drop off the dressers/hutch.
Another crappy pic.. I'll bring the good camera when I go back to put the hardware on. (They havent decided on knobs/pulls yet)
It's really not splotchy when you're in the room.. I cant figure out this pile of junk camera.... Half the pics are blurry too and I'm standing perfectly still... Nikon junk.. bah...

Let him fix his own pictures. You guys whined about the last set. I can't help it if he doesn't know how to operate a camera. How hard can it be point, push button. And my camera is a Nikon, do you see me posting pics that look like that? Hmmmmm?
Of course, not the pics from my crappy phone. They suck suck suck.

I fixed the pics as good as I can. I'm not gonna post them though.
Looks great as always Alex. Did A nice job on that corner, I knew you were worried about it. Now all you need to do is to figure out eCabs.

C'mon, post 'em up... Let see the carnage....er.. improvement...
I was on the fence whether to make the L-shaped double dresser as two freestanding dressers. I didnt want it to look like office furniture as a one piece, but the room is so small that two individual dressers might look odd squeezed so tight together. A chat with Leo helped with the decision. (I usually do the exact opposite of what he suggests, but this time he finally got something right :D )
