GoogleGirl

My name is Leslie-Anne but I've learned to embrace the nickname of "The Google Girl". (Don't laugh, it works.)
I work with small businesses to help them attract new customers online. Technically, all I do is Search (connecting you with the people searching on Google/Yahoo for what you do, in your target geographic area) and Display (banner ads on your favorite sites).
But I do a lot more than that for my customers. I help them refine their web strategy (but I do NOT design websites!), or help them create a web strategy, help them with overall marketing strategies, working on email newsletter campaigns, getting testimonials/reviews on Google Maps, getting them on Google maps, even helping them negotiate with their yellow pages rep...
I love what I do. I know marketing befuddles a lot of people. I like to make it simple, painless and PROFITABLE for you. Most of my business comes from referrals because I am NOT a sales person. I'm a marketeer. (yes, like Muskateer!) I prefer to spend time with my customers than foraging for new business.
I can be your Go-To person to do a check-up on your website. (I warn you, I'm honest - so if you want me to candy-coat things - I'll be gentle.) I don't believe you have to pay an arm and a leg for a good productive website.
And if you're banging your head on your keyboard trying to figure out where all your money is going to Google Adwords, we should talk. I work with the largest and oldest company that focuses in Local Search. (Attracting clients in your area.) No monthly management fees. Through patented technology, we track which keywords make your phone ring and generate estimate request forms - then we focus putting those words up more often - so your campaign gets 'smarter and smarter' each month.
If you've ever wondered about the mysterious Internet and how the heck to get 'up there' on Google and the other search engines, I'm happy to help.
If you are a seasoned Adwords pro, you'll still be impressed. I've yet to have a single AdWords customer leave me once they've experienced ReachLocal. I'm based in Atlanta, but able to work with anyone anywhere in the country.

I scanned your signature:

Linkedin Facebook Blog You Tube Twitter
And thought it said "Face Painting Contractor"
I thought "um, well, that's one way to get out of the home improvement downturn."
Then I read it again.

Welcome Leslie-Anne. Hyphenations are fine as long as that's all you got. Leslie-Anne Parker-Schnitwitty won't fly here. Maybe we'll just call you G-girl.
You want to know what we need? Read my post on Marketing Obstacles. Tying it all together would help me a lot. Everywhere I turn, I see something else that I think I must have. Help!

Welcome GG,
Are you going to hang out and be an active member, share knowledge with us and hack it up? Or, are you here to solicit business from the members?
Either way, welcome aboard If you are interested in helping the members, I could offer a model to follow, there was a guy on CT, License Guru, he helped a lot of people that had questions.
He also had his own business that helped people with Contractor Licensing in California. He was kinda the "go to guy" for license questions, maybe you could be the "go to girl" for SEO questions?
This site keeps getting better and better.........

Welcome.
So you're a google expert, eh?
my only question for you is (maybe 2 combined):
is having multiple domains that point to the same domain bad? what if there is a seperate google local listing for each domain as well?

I'm a Google Certified Professional, the highest level of certification an individual can have. Your question is actually not a yes or no answer. It's an 'it depends'. If you will shoot me both domains, I'll do a little research and give you some feedback.

When it comes to Google, adwords, SEO or anything website related, I'm an amateur, and not even an experienced amateur.
Every week I get calls from "Pros" who seem to know even less than me. So I wonder, is there too much information on how to have an effective website, or is there just too much bad information?
Not much different than being a contractor, ask 5 carpenters "Whats the best way to set a nail"?
You get 5 best way answers.

Why do you think I did that? Everyone else starts with "hello" or "hi"...

Leslie-Anne, L.A., or hey you works just fine for me.
No hyphenated last name. My name doesn't even fit on most credit cards...
I'm waiting for the 'powers that be' to allow me into the forums so I can be let loose!

Leslie-Anne, you are going to be one of the most popular people here and not just because of your good looks and charm. Forget Modern, he's incorrigible. You will find that the subject matter with which you have such expertise is one area many contractors have the least amount of accurate and timely information, so you will get hit with lots of questions.
However, please let us know what WE can do to help you. This shouldn't be a one way street and anything we can do, we will.

I need a new roof, some plumbing issues, a new laminate flooring installed, some hardiplank replaced, new countertops....
Or you can just remember the "Google Girl" with any of your compadres that are looking at attracting new businesses. I promise I take care of every prospective customer/referral with upmost appreciation.
What I do is pretty cool. I love educating people. When they see what ReachLocal does, most of them say "Why wouldn't I do this?" (And it was just announced today that we are #39 on Inc 500's Fastest Growing Companies!)
