This wording is in an asbestos abatement contract that was sent to me for an upcoming job.

I don't contract with or pay these guys, I stay out of that liability loop. But this was in their contract and the HO asked me about it.

Anyone know why they won't release results to the HO?

Air Sampling: A final visual inspection will be conducted, and upon completion of this procedure an air sample will be taken for liability purposes only. P.W. Stevens cannot supply written verification of air samples to owner or agent. If written verification of clearance is required, independent laboratories can be hired and paid for by owner.

Same reason why special inspections are contracted for seperately by the client.
It is a conflict of intrest if the contractor does or contracts for his own.

Thanks, I explained it to my client and they were fine with it. They're a little freaked about asbestos in their house to begin with, and that made it look like to them that they could still have a houseful of it and the guy wouldn't have to tell them about it.
I'm making a $1500 mark-up on an HVAC system for holding hand and making a couple of calls.
I love this business sometimes.

So my remodel client just paid to have the asbestos ductwork taken out of their house.

Today, we removed one of the cast iron vent covers. Wrapped around the sheet metal vent that is inside the wall, was what looked to me like asbestos.

Might not have been visible to them when the did the abatement, as we sort of un-assed what was around the sheet metal when we did the demo.

But WTF? Now what do I do?
