Black Walnut Kitchen

Home owner just sent me these pics of their kitchen we installed a couple of weeks ago. Black Walnut and they wanted curl if it came.

Nice kitchen Pete. Only improvement I could see would be replace that temporary counter top with something nice, say concrete for example. :>)

Curious, the board going to the ceiling...a support for the cabinets I assume? Looks like the ceiling has a small angle on it to. On the third pic, is there a wire coming out of that support from the ceiling?

The ceiling had a vault. We put 2 5/8 readyrod from the ceiling to support the cabinet. The box is to cover the rods.

The wire you see is end of a light strand(customer installed). It needs to be affixed down.

I hear that a lot. And I credit my thorough training as an arrogant contractor.

As a pall bearer for my uncle's funeral I got to ride in one of the special cars with another pall bearer, the lady priest and the funeral director. On the way to the cemetery the priest and director were complaining to each other about how busy they both were and they had to take care of business as it came in. Seems they were both a little stressed about being overbooked.

I volunteered that they should consider contracting as a profession. We can double book without thought because we aren't expected to show up anyway.

Nice looking Kitchen. I have always liked Black Walnut. It doesn't like me though. Highly allergic to the sawdust!!

Yeah I agree with framer. I think Walnut is my favorite species. I'm doing walnut floors in the house I'm building right now, and that's about the only finish decision I've made so far. Good looking kitchen Pete.
