I find this quote highly suspect

A professional designer has the experience and expertise to quote costs, suggest design alternatives, and give you ideas that you would probably never think of on your own.

From what I have seen and heard, they usually are way under priced when it comes to estimating. This will usually turn the client off to the projects because the realistic pricing doesn't match what they were told by then designer.
