I learned that the dreaded Craigs List has a "Curb Alert" section. look under for sale, free. I tried it out this week with a door slab. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/zip/1331883912.html
The posting was at 5:20 pm and at 6:23pm it was picked up. So now I'm thinking that the next remodel we do I'll post the usable items on CL and see if they get picked up and maybe reduce our weight we pay for at the dump.

Stuff will go quicker if you put a price tag on it. :rolleyes3:

I put a bunch of doors and windows on Craigs once, modestly price. Had them sold in one day.

Of course, the problem was, they were bought by two young college co-eds who were taking on the ambitious project of turning a garage into a living space. And they actually came to the job site in a Volkswagen to pick up the goods. Thinking they could "make several trips".

One of my workers made a couple of bucks that day after work hauling their loot in his pick-up truck.
My guess is that the garage leaked like a sieve after those two tenderonis installed the doors and windows.

How about when you sell stuff like that tape your business card to the items in case they need you to come install if the project goes bad?

You should also keep a scrapper on your list of friends. They don't mind carrying a cast iron tub down two flights of stairs. And they do it for the scrap no cash involved.:2thumbsup:

I offered my services to the girlies with the Beetle. Too rich for their blood.
But a good idea for homeowners buying the stuff.

As long as somebody has a WC policy in full force and effect.
