This new laptop has a copy of outlook 2007 but I have to buy a product key for it. So what do you guys use for your email? I have used outlook express in the past but figured I might like to try something else out. Any recommendations?

G-mail all the way. It's cloud based and free.

I can log on from any computer and access any and all emails I've ever received and updates happen within seconds from anything I do between my smart phone and computer.

The computer I'm typing on could crash tomorrow and I wouldn't care (at least for my emails). The same for my phone.

I can be back in business and not skip a beat.

Yes, a Google account gets you gmail, docs, calendar, etc.--all seamless and free.

I have an email tied to my website (Chris@WrightWorks.net). I have my Gmail account setup to get emails to that address from my server.

For work I like outlook, mostly because of the contact manager functions.
Personal I prefer Gmail

Aww, Dissapointed!

I switched to Google apps (Gmail on my domain) from outlook, which I used for years. It was weird at first but so glad I did. Just like Chris said, no syncing between computers, phones, no backups to worry about etc.

The most difficult hurdle for me was the sort by name function. I was so used to that in Outlook, it was the hardest habit to break. Want to find a contact in Gmail, use the search. Works very well, just a new routine.

I love Gmail's 'Converstions (http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=5900)' - that feature alone is worth checking it out.

And for the paranoid, you CAN bakcup Gmail too. Although individuals are MUCH more likely to have an issue and lose data than Google, it can still happen.

I love thunderbird! You can import almost any email account to there, no problems...and it is so customizable.

When you you recieve a haters email because they are unhappy with the way you run your free forum, do you think its like someone coming to your house uninvited and complaining about the food your serving?

Naw, I just figure that's how it is. Plus the moderators, I don't remember typing I was doing a chitty job.

The members complain about your service. The moderators tell you how to speak. If we didn't have Paul to push around this place woud be no fun at all.

I love gmail and will NEVER go back.

I ended up getting the 'apps' version so I could be 100% google controlled.

My friend Andy Traub has a great free training product on using gmail if anyone is interested.
