What is that one interior project or house renovation that you completed to date that you consider your best project? Why?
I completed a 2400 sf renovation about 3 years ago that the homeowner spec'd out some of the coolest materials to be installed.
Even to this day when I go by and do work for him and I look around and think yeah I really pulled a master piece of on this one.
Please post pics if you have them

The home owner is going to give me a thumb drive with all the pictures I should have it next week.
I never really got into the picture taking until 2 years ago. I suck

The 1879 remodel - I also suck at getting pics, but it started off with removing the wallpapered paneling, drywall, followed by horsehair plaster & cleaning out rooms packed with trash.
Amazingly the only water damage was caused where they had tried earlier to turn a porch into a sunroom & did a crappy job with the vinyl siding.

Looks like a challenge. How many layers of flooring were there?
What in the world is that router doing on the kitchen counter?

Believe it or not - only 1, the hardwood - except in the kitchens & baths where they slapped the vinyl over underlayment once...
It was there temporary setup when they started moving in. It's real fun doing punch list stuff around all the boxes

We reduced an entry closet in height. I think the guys did a great job matching the popcorn ceiling.

(free) www.picture-shark.com (http://www.picture-shark.com/) + logo + set location + set opacity at 20 to 30%
Chad gets the credit for reminding me about opacity after I saw the watermark he used on his pics
With the program you can do batches at a time or just selected ones - always make sure you put it in a diffrent folder, in case you don't like the looks

Ok so I will give you some quick background. I started this project last summer. I was called by a contractor who I now do alot of work for, to see if i could power wash mold and mildew off from linseed oil beams.Lesson number 1, NO ... hard lesson ...Do Homework before giving price. Chemically strip is best method period. So it was a barn that was disassembled in Mass and brought to Vermont and finnished. The carpenters got booted for taking the money and not doing the work that was billed. We were then asked to finish it off this is what I did. power washed all woodwork, sealer, then poly, hung sheetrock and painted.

So this is the basement of the barn and this winter I did the up stairs and just finished the job last week. Up stairs came out way better. This is by far my favorite job

Well, this isn't the fanciest or most expensive one you will ever see but it was important to me because it was the first project I did after going out on my own. To top things off, these clients were about as great to work with as you could possibly ask for and to this day I'm still close friends with them.
It started off as a 1950's ranch, we gutted everything down to the studs, added a second floor and pushed a kitchen addition off the back.
Here's the before picture:

Leo that wine cellar needs a few thousand bottles more capacity. Is it set up properly with climate control?
Leo G
September 16th, 2009, 07:16 PM
Yep, set up with the proper climate control. The unit is outside the room. I had nothing to do with anything but building and installing the racks/cabinets. It was part of an $80K cellar remodel.
It took me almost three days to put the small bevels on all the parts. I made a jig for my edge sander and stood in front of it and put a bevel on 10 edges of each of the cross members that hold the bottle up. There were close to 1000 of these. It was mind numbing.
