Scope of Work in 2009

I was talking with a remodeling contractor in Minneapolis today regarding the changes we have made in our business model regarding the scope of work or size of projects we are willing to under take this year. I don't know about the rest of you but I have greatly widened our scope. As an example, I posted an article on my blog (http://fairwd.blogspot.com/2009/08/fairlington-basement-stair-rail-system.html) today regarding a recent basement project.

For personal reasons I am going the other direction.
Silvertree did it all, from a screen door to whole house remodels.
I see doing that, but what happened with us was I had to be on the job a lot, I had a business partner who wasn't a PM, so I sold and ran jobs. Long days.

If your model has good subs its very doable, we were carpenters and ended up all over the place. We did make money though!
