the sliding scale (http://www.residentialarchitect.com/architects/the-sliding-scale.aspx?page=1)

a shrunken economy leaves architects struggling to juggle more small jobs.

I found this article very interesting, many parallels to what we are experiencing and an interesting insight on how architects are dealing with the economy and contractors.

Gotta take what you can get in this economy. Muddle through until the good times come back.

I think handling multiple small jobs would be pretty rough for an architect. Especially if they are set up for larger, fewer jobs.

I'm betting it is easier for him to do small jobs then a firm the does small jobs leaping into larger jobs.

The big guy has the resources, he just has to reallocate them. The little guy has to obtain the resources.
