From my email:
Help Prevent Local Governments from Mandating Fire Sprinklers in Homes
In the next few days, the Kansas House will consider legislation (HB 2088) that would prevent local governments from mandating the installation of fire sprinklers in new and existing homes. If this legislation is not adopted, several Kansas cities are considering adopting this mandate that would increase the cost of a typical single-family home by as much as $10,000.

Although I support the idea, I've got to say it seems odd to enact a law to prevent a law.
I was thinking just yesterday how we need some more legislation to mandate more price increases because we are having it too easy.
Good Luck

Its too much to wrap my tiny brain around. Can you imagine, lets run a spiderweb of water pipes in everyones attic. How do you retrofit this into vaulted ceilings. So many questions I just want a drink. Hell above my stove is vaulted/no access even for a midget-errrr small person.

Just think of all the work it will stimulate if it does be done.

Just think how many criminals it would produce. My house is already built. I wouldn't comply, just turn to a life of crime in my own home.
Good Luck

Isn't most of what we do in our homes probably criminal any way. What's one more thing?

The water damage from false activations will probably outstrip the fire damage claims for the insurance companies. From a safety point of view it is probably a good idea. But what will it do to the price of a house. What about people on wells that are just above the minimum limits? Now they need a tank system too.
Another feel good legislation without thinking about the financial consequences that follow.

Good point Pete. I guess if I'm already doing it I don't consider it illegal anymore.
Until someone knocks on the door...........
Good Luck
