Okay finally got a What do sit cost page up and running. I need to ad some verbiage but wanted to get it up and going. There is a link (jason W is going to smash his monitor) to the cost vs value report as it gives an idea of what it might cost. There is a blue link button on home page.

Any input is always appreciated

I love that report. Use it often. We get them from the WAR office that are nicely bound like a little book.

It gives them a warm and fuzzy and validates their good decision to improve their home.

I don't like this line

Remodeling is not a commodity such as milk or paper, the reality is our business is a service industry which just happens to provide a finished product.

I also don't like that the report does not give a price range.. EX. 30-50K for a kitchen Remodel

I think the price range makes it a bit easier to stomach the cost or atleast for them not to lose interest because they are shocked by the price

I like it. Your message seems clear and based on the number of times I see the word "cost" in Google Analytics for keywords my visitors searched I bet this page quickly becomes a top landing page for your site. But for some reason that graphic doesn't do it for me. I know what it is and where it is from but the average visitor is not going to understand the difference between the '09 columns and '10. I also think the cost recouped column and all those red down arrows just send a negative feeling. I think I would create my own graphic illustrating what you want it to show and just reference the source of the information.

I am also renaming the page What Does it cost ....

I am not selling resale value at all. I am only selling comfort remodels and upgrades. I only want to give some numbers but from a 3rd party so its not me telling them your basement will be 65k but it might if your scope of work matches the description.

So maybe just use a blow up of basement and have a description and then below that have the blow up of the bathroom cost and description of scope of work.

Like it better or worse?

I'm not digging all the red down arrows either.
I think this page is ripe for a sidebar with some warm and fuzzy, feel good testimonials about how good your customer felt after making the decision to invest in your company as opposed to someone who might not carry all your credentials.
That would reinforce the "not selling resale, selling comfort and convenience".

"Having heard some of the experiences our friends had when choosing a remodeler, and having first hand experience interviewing some less than savory contractors, Kevin and his company made our entire experience a pleasant one.
We plan to use him again, and would recommend him to anyone"
With a pic of the happy family.
Kinda thing.

"We get asked this question often so we decided to answer as best we can."

Sounds wishy-washy.

You're the expert. Communicate that.

"Believing that all contractors are equal and your will receive the same product or service from whomever you choose is a falsehood."

Passive language. Again, wishy-washy and a little condescending.

Great ideas guys.

Exactly what I was looking for. I put that stuff together in about 10 mins.

I am going to add some new verbiage and probably smaller graph with a description of what the 15k bath gets you.

I will post up the new copy when I change it. Thanks again.
