Anyone check this out yet? I was a while ago and not real impressed, here is an interesting article.

Google launched their own take on the communal dish: Google HotPot, the gist of which is that you and all your friends can dip into one another's ratings, Social Media-style, to see what's hot and what's not on the local business scene. Just yesterday, Google announced that they are taking HotPot to the next level. You will now start seeing your HotPot friends' ratings within the actual SERPs. High level placement for this very new Google idea.

Exactly Paul. I feel for Len or any SEO guy out there right now. Been saying this for a minute, I think there is too much dust in the air right now. If you get results right now.. are they going to last?

Are you going to be able to see continued success from the new "tweaks" or whatever you are doing? I think it is ridiculous right now with all the sights that scrape content. AND what I feel is google speaking from both sides of their mouth.. DON'T CRAM!! Yet this is ALL I see from other competitors sites that are doing well in SERPS.

I think the way that everyone is throwing up videos is iffy also. I say that and I plan on doing it because that is what my competion is doing. I am just trying to get up everywhere they are. If it is all about getting your name out there, to have it show on SERPS.. then this is the only way. I don't think it is a good or even professional. It is just throwing out huge nets.. Why should a contractor come up high on a search cause he posts up a video on Vimeo?!?! makes no sense to me, but again I will be doing this also. I actually decided to go defcom 3 on em and have added nearly 40 google alerts, naming other companies and keywords used.

I have found out some crazy things by just doing that alone. Time will tell. If you are a webmaster.. keep your head up

I agree there is a lot of crap out there right now. But it seems to me that things like Hotpot, Yelp, etc are all being changed by what users/customers post, not what we do to manipulate rank.
We have been seeing google search results include the posts/reviews of people in your social circle.
I think it is more important to develop online social circles by sharing good content, and being an influencer, just like in real life!

Less we forget, Google is a business. A business does what they think is best to grow their revenue.
