*and a dab of drywall.

This was a foreclosure where the HOs bailed and turned off the heat, but not the water:rolleyes3:

Oddly enough, the only bursting was in every shower cartridge (4), but the water ran for who knows how long.

Almost every room was destroyed to some extent. The plaster completely failed down to the base coat (and the base failed here and there). I ended up using Structolite and Durabond 90, as someone snatched all the Diamond from my supplier a day before I needed it. Most of the paint came off of the woodwork, also.

This was a strange job, as the bank still owned the house pending the completion of repairs, when the new HOs would then close on the property.

Without further ado, here is a sampling of pics (in slide show format):2thumbsup:: Photobucket Slideshow

Whoever did the strapping on the downstairs ceilings did a fine job, as they came out nice and flat. The house had been significantly upgraded with all new electric, HVAC and plumbing so the house had all drywall on the first floor ceilings.

The built in is what caused the demise of my sander, which is why I asked about a new one the other day.

*The floors were outside of my scope (for now).

How did they find you to do this work? B2B networking? Banker networking?

I was not the prime contractor...he was referred by the future HO's father and maybe insurance co. somehow??? I think there might have been some insurance payout involved, though who's insurance and any other details beyond that, IDK.

I generally handle all of the paint and plaster work for the main contractor (sometimes trim, tile and more). I don't worry too much about the circumstances of the money, as long as I am receiving it.

*This contractor also was prime on that big plaster job in the church that I posted back a while ago. Lots of work, this guy.
