Got a call from my uncle who knows very little about computers. He has a problem he has this thing come up where pc tools starts to scan his computer and tells him for $99 that he can get it fixed by this program. He has run avira and this other program for spy ware and nothing is helping. As soon as he tries to log onto IE it loads. I think they have changed his home page or something. I am going to check it out next time I go down. Its either a problem in IE or FF or he has a spy ware that his software isn't getting rid of.
All I know is he is the type that either should not buy a computer or buy a mac so he has less problems with it lol.

Malwarebytes.com or danniweb to get it fixed this is a particularly nasty virus that purportedly is spread by the very same people who offer the fix.
Leo will be along shortly to help. He knows about this.

Funny thing is he got a call from these ass holes and asked if he liked how his computer was running. They got hold of his credit card some how and charged the fee on it. He called his credit card company and got it reversed. I will help him out when I get down there. It will be a while though. I still think he should get himself a Mac.

Didn't think about a tool connection sorry guys.
He is running that Malware program already. I am going to see about going down there and see whats going on. I know that with out report scans you guys would not be able to help me out with it. I am leery about hooking up my laptop to his service. I think they are or have someone waiting and attacking his IP address. As soon as he boots it back up he says that it get reinfected too. That tells me that there is something in his registry that is doing it. Correct?

Backup his photo's and reinstall windows after a low level format. That's the only sure way to do it.

He has that all backed up so no problem there. He even has someone that jacked into his email and is sending a pile of spam out although I haven't gotten any. I will do that for him. Thanks for the tips guys.

He has a trojan in there. Probably a keytracker type. He needs to get that out of there pronto.
Malwarebytes will deal with it if it can run. He probably has tons of crap on that computer now. His backups might be corrupted too.
