This is. When my client asked me to build one I said sure.. What is it?:surrender:

Come to find out it is just a fancy name for a window seat with out the window.

So she wanted 3 panels and to make it black. I used a stain and made it very opaque. You have to look really hard (in person) to see the grain.

The other cabinets surrounding it are not mine.

The term as I knew it refers to the seating that you get in diners. But what do I know....

Look's nice Leo.

Looks nice. I did one a few years ago, had to have a compound curved end to accommodate an HVAC floor outlet, and a seat that lifted for storage. I used the ply you can bend, and a buttload of Bondo.

I don't got no pics, I didn't take photos back then.

The top is split and is removable. I had to get inside the box and have the HO put the cover on so I could screw some blocks on the bottom so it would keep alignment.

She laughed her ass off seeing me inside the box, she took a picture, several actually, and laughed while she was taking them.

Given the application, it is just a fancy bench. A Banquette is used for dinning. A window seat is installed under a window. But hey, as long as she paid you to build it she can call it a commode if it makes her happy.
