Superbuild, Hold your horses Johnny!

wild-horsesJust to be fair, Intelligent Estimate, partly sponsored by Andersen windows and free to everyone is built on the Superbuild platform. I checked and indeed they are one and the same. So whats the problem? None really, just be sure you read the fine print, free is rarely free and you will pay in giving information. This is spelled out and clearly defined.

Who is behind Superbuild, well some of the players are clearly defined like Remodelers Choice and obviously Andersen.

SuperBuild distributes its products through best in class partnerships with; PlanSwift, The Home Depot, Andersen Windows, HGTvpro, Stock Building Supply, Reno Works Software, John Wick Homes, Crew2, Builders Club and others.

For more information about SuperBuild, please visit the company’s website at www.superbuild.com. What they say is you give them marketing info and you get to use the Superbuild/ Intelligent Estimate web based software.

Simple. Its neither good or bad. You allow your information to be gathered and they give you access to Superbuild/ Intelligent Estimate.

The information will help companies like Home Depot better serve its clients and ultimately NARI members who are Home Depot clients. You may eventually be able to let your customers buy online directly from companies like Home Depot and have the materials shipped directly to the job site. Saving you time and your customers money.

Just the facts.

  1. New to this site, not sure of posting protocol.

So is this an attempt by the above companies to take away the builders markup? I noticed that my online toolbox, resembles “ie”, does anyone know, if they have a hidden agenda as well?

  2. Actually our product http://www.MyOnlineToolbox.com is completetely different than super build. All you need to do is sign up (for Free) and see that the MyOnlineToolbox platform is so different than super built. It is better to think of MyOnlineToolbox along the lines of a Quickbooks and LinkedIn model where no other company (The Home Depot, Andersen, or whomever) should change the functionality to meet their needs. Our needs are based on the contractors working more efficiently with their customers, and the people that supply them should simply make their products available more efficiently at the best price. In other words, MyOnlineToolbox will operate in the same manner regardless if we had a relationship with The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menard’s or ACE, or all of them. Is FaceBook any different with, or without advertising from The Home Depot? Does LinkedIn work any different between different groups? For some reason there are a few big suppliers that seem to want to try to change the way the smaller guys run their business. All you need to do is give the small guys the power to run their business effectively, inexpensively with the availability to connect to others. The foundations of the toolbox and superbuilt are so different that I prefer not saying that one is better since they simply are not comparable.

And how is this a good thing??
